Question 1

Will I work with you directly?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I lead every engagement: the plan, the process, and the weekly check-ins. For niche searches I bring in specialist recruiters I've worked with for years. I stay accountable for every hire.

Question 2

How is this different from a recruiting agency?

Accepted Answer

An agency fills one role and charges 20–30% of first-year salary. I build your hiring process and fill roles for a monthly retainer plus a small success fee per hire. When we're done, the plan, process, and hiring software stay with you.

Question 3

Do you hire outside of science roles, or for non-scientific companies?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Startups also need finance, legal, HR, operations, and IT. I've filled all of them. Science roles are where my PhD helps most. I also have tech recruiters on staff, and we have worked with many companies at the intersection of science and tech, and in pure tech and AI. If your company falls outside my area of expertise, I'll be happy to give you a referral.

Question 4

How does this work with my HR person?

Accepted Answer

I run recruiting so they can focus on people and culture. Many clients start with one HR lead, often fractional or contract, who doesn't want to run recruiting too. At some lean or early-stage companies, HR lives with operations, and recruiting is certainly not on the list of things they want to handle.

Question 5

Can we add roles as we grow?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The retainer scales with your open roles. When you're ready for a full-time TA leader, I'll help you hire one. I've done that for many of our former clients. The mark of our success is that we make ourselves obsolete because we've grown your company and you now need a full-time head of TA.

Question 6

Can you help with just part of the process?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sourcing only, scheduling only, offers only, or one hard-to-fill role. Startups need all kinds of help. Tell me what you need and we'll work it out.

Question 7

Can you guarantee approval?

Accepted Answer

No. No report or letter can. USCIS weighs all the evidence in your petition. My job is to make one piece of it clear, specific, and backed by data.

Question 8

Is this legal advice?

Accepted Answer

No. Recruitomics is not a law firm. Your attorney decides which petition to file and how to use my report. I'm glad to work with them directly.

Question 9

Can my attorney talk to you directly?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Drafts go to the attorney, and to the petitioner if they like. My report often brings new information to light that your attorney can use to strengthen the petition or an RFE response.

Question 10

Which fields do you cover?

Accepted Answer

All of STEM: science, technology, engineering, and math. That includes researchers, engineers, and the leaders who run those teams.

Question 11

Can I see a sample?

Accepted Answer

I don't publish samples, to protect past petitioners. Your free consultation includes a walk-through of a redacted example report.
